sand

In freewrite, poetry on June 25, 2010 at 9:25 am

we sat in the sand
and I ran the silt through my hands
as I proceeded to tell you everything

I’ve waited for that
to hear you laugh
and see your eyes move
and watch those eyes wait patiently
for the conclusion

silence.

people ask me what you say when I tell you the stories
I tell them: very little

you’re eyes say most everything

we sat in the sand
and I ran the silt through my hands
as you proceeded to understand everything
