candleflame

In freewrite, poetry on July 31, 2010 at 10:38 pm

The chipped aquamarine on the bathroom walls
reveals the red – in the light of the waltzing flame of the candle.
And beneath the starlight you’re playing the piano
And I’m melting into the sound.

unfinished thought

In freewrite, poetry on July 31, 2010 at 10:37 pm

The train came
Surging through the forest
By the winery

And I’d like to think you thought of me

The rain came
Dripping softly like a ticking clock
T’ward entropy

And I’d like to think you…

ghosts in the winery

In freewrite, poetry on July 30, 2010 at 2:27 pm

among the barrels
little hands
And little feet.
Run swiftly through
The death-cold room
like ghosts inside the winery

please?

In freewrite, half a melody and three-fourths a beat, poetry on July 29, 2010 at 11:03 pm

Please? Would you just love Me?
Would you just let go
of these
Lovers your chasing after?

Please? Would you just trust Me?
Would you just stay still long enough
For Me to make love to your soul?

rainfall

Rushing
Water falling
waving
Envelope me
Consume

Water
takes full possession
of the earth
We’re banished to

g’night

In freewrite, poetry on July 29, 2010 at 1:30 am

I throw my arms around your neck
one instant
then I go up
in my room
and cry
For what I have to lose

Tigerlily

In freewrite, poetry on July 27, 2010 at 5:40 pm

Tigerlilly
I was your
Tigerlilly
Strong and beautiful
You said

Come and pick me
Won’t you?
Come and pick me
I long to be the laurel
To crown your head

The flowers I would wear
In my hair
Were dying from the moment
they were plucked
I always knew
Love was a bruise
I just didn’t know how much

Tigerlilly
I’m a
Tigerlilly

He’s preserved my soul
Kept me whole
I’m not shattering for this

You can’t kill me
No, you can’t kill me
now
You already did

But we both know
Wildflowers grow
back
Stronger
When they die
It’s not for naught
I’ve lost a lot
But I didn’t lose my pride

I only miss your eyes

Tigerlilly
You traded me
For a Lilly of the Valley
And I do
I really do
Pray that you will be happy

Tigerlilly
In a field that’s burned
It’s my turn….
to die

glass

In freewrite, half a melody and three-fourths a beat, poetry on July 27, 2010 at 11:56 am

I’m looking at my dreams
Everything
I thought I knew
Lying shattered on the ground

Love is a melody
And I’m haunted by the sound

Love is glass
beautiful
out to cut you
Dreams don’t last:
Broken marbles
Falling through the cracks

I’m looking at the stars
Burning fire in a freezing
Emptiness

Love is fire
Boiling blood
And clenching fists

Love is glass
beautiful
out to cut you
Dreams don’t last
Broken marbles
Falling through the cracks

Monday mail

In freewrite, poetry on July 26, 2010 at 9:20 am

There’s a letter in the mailbox.

Soon the postman will come
and yawn
And take it….
and it will be on it’s way to you.
