Catch

In old poetry, poetry on August 3, 2010 at 11:44 pm

I formed a snowball
with the cold, wet snow,
drew an “I”
with my little finger
and tossed it your way…

Catch

I scribbled on a notepad
“Love”
made the “o” a clock
the “v” a heart
and trailed the “e”
off to eternity
crumpled it
and threw it your way…

Catch.

I made a paper airplane
from one of your old letters
on the wing
I scrawled out “you”
in sharpie
and flew it your way…

Catch.

On my arm
I wrote, in bold type
“Friend.”
climbed the stairway
some call love
some call eternity
and fell hard your way…

Catch
