like children

In freewrite, poetry on December 13, 2010 at 11:02 pm

We are like children
Afraid of the dark;
Trying to not scab our knees
Or our hearts.

Love is a Seeker
And we’re all at play.
Love, he will find us
Someday.

We are like children
Caught in a game
That we have invented
That we cannot name.

Life is a teacher
And we’re in his class
With more questions
Than we can ask.

We are like children
Learning how to play
Laughing and falling
Unsure of the way.

God is the father
Holding us tight
Urging us off
Into flight

Out to fight

We are like children
Afraid of the dark;
Trying to not scab our knees
Or our hearts.

Love is a Seeker
And we’re all at play.
Love, he will find us
Someday.
