tears of water

In freewrite, poetry on March 23, 2011 at 10:12 am

It was spring, but it was cold
The cards were dealt, the choice was a Fold
The day she died…we all cried
Tears of water.

sourire jaune

I went down to the river today.
I gathered yellow flowers on the way.
I walked barefoot on the slippery rocks
And standing in the middle of my tears.
I let go of the flowers with my fears.
And watched them, happly revel and be lost.

gone like a picture

In freewrite, poetry on March 22, 2011 at 10:37 am

I have a thousand words to say today.
Each one will be forgotten and will slip away.

on the veranda

She stepped out on the veranda. The light was soft outside. The air was cool and it swept around her softly and kissed her cheek.

the poet and his girl

In lyrics on March 21, 2011 at 11:39 am

If we two were like the birds
In the tree
On your arm
You would write me letters
On the leaves

All the day
We would sing our songs
And you would write poetry
On my wings

If we two were like the children
In the park
You would blow Wrigley’s bubbles
Bigger than me

All night long
We would try to float
We’d laugh
As we closed our eyes to gravity

If we two
Were mountain climbers
We would find
A place far above the valley

Linking arms,
We would jump
And fly
Landing in a splash of green.

finite

“Dreams don’t last,”
We whispered to ourselves as we watched them pass
The way to go is: cry as little as you can.
And laugh.

The Days We Will Forget

In freewrite, poetry on March 17, 2011 at 9:36 am

These are the days we will forget:

June 14th
The day you said that you would marry me
You told me all of life was entropy
To contrast eternity in love.

New Years day
We cried: For childhood had died away
And we were so unsure of what to say
and what to do
and who trust
and who fall in love with

Saturday night
We had burnt pancakes
And we watched the lights
Of the city
Like of jar shooting stars
Shattering
Scattering shards inside our hearts.

Yesterday
I got your letter just a day too late
With all the soft words that you didn’t say
And then tomorrow came.

These are the days we will forget.

earthquake 2011

In freewrite, poetry on March 15, 2011 at 4:41 pm

The earth quakes – bringing us closer.
The axis of the world is changed forever.

sourire jaune

I found a crowd pretending to be people –
Soulless, animated eyes.

the winged poem

In freewrite, poetry on March 15, 2011 at 1:32 pm

I happened upon a slick winged poem today
I caught it not, before it flew away.
