titles on

mahogany shelves

are old friends

binded pages

I love to sift through

even thoughtlessly

even with out reading

I can smell

yesteryear

and innocence

and idle happiness

in these

antique or paperback

pages

I will fall asleep

with my head

resting on my beloved

times new roman

and dreams shall all

be sweet

yesterdays are autumn leaves
all of which have flown away
decomposed into the earth
and there they'll stay

tomorrow is a blooming tree
every bud is coming out
like a lady flushed and freshly
wide-eyed
garnished in her gown.
