titles on

mahogany shelves

are old friends

binded pages

I love to sift through

even thoughtlessly

even with out reading

I can smell

yesteryear

and innocence

and idle happiness

in these

antique or paperback

pages

I will fall asleep

with my head

resting on my beloved

times new roman

and dreams shall all

be sweet

  1. ahhhh…. I love falling asleep to a good book as well..

I really liked the idea of “smelling” yesteryear, innocence and idle happiness,,,,

    splendid.

  2. I love smelling books. Sometimes I go to second hand stores and flip through the pages quickly like a flip-book and just to taste the spiced breeze therefrom.
